In line with Europe’s competitiveness agenda and the priorities highlighted in the Draghi report, CEI-Sphere supports the transformation of Cloud–Edge–IoT technologies into strategic European capabilities.
By aligning standards, market needs and policy frameworks, and through high-level initiatives such as V2G Leaders Europe, CEI-Sphere connects research, industry and regulation, helping Europe scale interoperable solutions across energy, mobility and digital infrastructures while reinforcing long-term industrial resilience and strategic autonomy.
The CEI-Sphere Approach
The CEI-Sphere project supports the development of an open, interoperable, and competitive Cloud-Edge-IoT (CEI) ecosystem. At its core are Europe’s Large-Scale Pilots (LSPs). To maximise their impact, CEI-Sphere introduces the concept of Spheres: the three below clusters that bring together use cases from the LSPs around shared challenges and opportunities.
Expected key results
Over the next 30 months, CEI-Sphere will foster innovation and collaboration, driving outcomes in standardisation, interoperability, and key partnerships for the Cloud-Edge-IoT ecosystem.
