Smart and Bidirectional Charging in Light of the European Automotive Action Plan

V2G Leaders Europe is a focused one-day event that brings together stakeholders from across the automotive and energy sectors to address the integration of electric vehicles into the energy grid. As EV adoption rises, smart and bidirectional charging technologies offer a unique opportunity to enhance grid flexibility, support renewable integration, and enable consumers to become active energy participants.

The event will feature expert-led panels and presentations exploring both policy and technical challenges, with the goal of accelerating the adoption of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) solutions. Key topics include regulatory barriers, interoperability and standards, and the need for a supportive framework aligned with the European Commission’s Automotive Action Plan. This action plan emphasises the importance of smart charging infrastructure in navigating Europe’s energy and mobility transitions, especially amid growing geopolitical and industrial challenges.

Participants will benefit from insights and exchanges with initiatives such as IEA Task 53, the V2X Alliance, the Sustainable Transport Forum, and the Digital4Energy expert group.
