Agriculture is one of the sectors where Cloud-Edge-IoT technologies are already doing concrete work. Fields, stables, greenhouses and dairies generate large volumes of data from sensors, machinery and vehicles, often in places with limited connectivity and tight energy constraints. Processing that data close to where it is produced, and sharing only what needs to be shared, is what makes applications such as autonomous machinery, livestock monitoring and energy footprint calculation possible in practice.

This CEI-Sphere workshop brings together the clusters and pilots working on these questions inside Europe's two Large-Scale Pilots, COP-PILOT and O-CEI. The aim is to show how CEI technology is being applied in real agrifood settings, what the pilots have learned so far, and which challenges keep coming back across very different use cases.

Speakers will present work ranging from agritech transformation and smart logistics in the supply chain, to smart recharging and energy efficiency for robot tractors in large fruit production fields, to sustainable Halloumi cheese production supported by edge intelligence and controlled data sharing between stables and dairies. The session will close with a discussion of the common CEI aspects that emerge across these scenarios, from interoperability and data governance to energy awareness at the edge.

The workshop is open to anyone working at the intersection of agriculture, energy and distributed computing: technology providers, researchers, agrifood operators and policymakers.
