The day after ENLIT Europe closes, CEI-Sphere stays in Vienna for a round table organised together with INSIEME, the European flagship initiative building the Common European Energy Data Space under the Digital Europe Programme.

The two initiatives work on different halves of the same problem. CEI-Sphere and its Large-Scale Pilots deal with infrastructure: how data and computation move between cloud, edge and device, how workloads are orchestrated, how security holds up in distributed settings. INSIEME deals with governance and exchange: how energy data is shared across actors and borders in a way that is secure, interoperable and trusted. Flexibility services need both, and at present the two conversations mostly happen in separate rooms.

This session puts them in the same one. The guiding question is how Cloud-Edge-IoT pilots and INSIEME’s data space architecture can reinforce each other to enable new energy flexibility services and scalable business models, with the discussion focused on where the capabilities complement each other, which use cases become feasible at the intersection, which standardisation and interoperability gaps remain, and how joint deployments can be made commercially sustainable.

The format is a short scene-setting talk followed by a moderated panel with two minute opening positions, live audience polling and open Q&A. Panellists include CEI-Sphere, Trialog, AIOTI, O-CEI and COP-PILOT.

The session is relevant to anyone working where energy systems meet data infrastructure: pilot and project teams with a data space interface, DSOs and utilities, flexibility service providers, platform providers and standardisation actors.

More details will be shared soon!
