As electric mobility continues to expand across Europe, charging infrastructure is becoming an increasingly important component of the broader Cloud-Edge-IoT ecosystem. Beyond simply connecting vehicles to the grid, charging stations are evolving into intelligent, interconnected assets that exchange data in real time, support new energy services, and contribute to more flexible and sustainable energy systems.
This workshop will explore how charging stations can be integrated into Cloud-Edge-IoT environments, with a particular focus on interoperability, standards, and practical deployment challenges. Bringing together experts from research, industry and standardisation activities, the session will examine how software-defined vehicles, connected charging infrastructures and digital platforms can work together across the computing continuum.
Participants will gain insights into ongoing developments within the O-CEI Large-Scale Pilot, including use cases related to software-defined vehicles and connected mobility services. The workshop will also discuss the role of standards in enabling interoperable charging ecosystems and present emerging testing tools designed to support the integration and validation of charging stations in distributed digital environments.
This session is particularly relevant for stakeholders in electric mobility, smart charging, Cloud-Edge-IoT, interoperability, standardisation, and next-generation energy and mobility infrastructures.
