Wide Smart Grid Optimisation

Overview

Seasonal demand patterns are optimised with renewable integration and decentralised learning models.

Expected Outcomes

  • To quantify improvements in renewable energy integration across mixed-generation systems (PV, biomass, grid), demonstrating better consumption–production alignment.
    • Renewable energy utilisation: 35% improving over current 25% of RES
  • To measure the ability of demand-response tools and scheduling controls to flatten commercial and residential demand peaks, improving grid stability.
    • Reduction in peak energy demand from approximately 500 kW: 20%
  • To demonstrate the financial impact of energy optimisation measures by reducing household energy bills through behavioural change, load shifting and improved awareness of consumption.
    • Reduction in energy consumption (b/a O-CEI): ≥15% reduction in energy bills (baseline €1,200/year)
