Overview
The use of 5G or WIFI (provided by the 5G modems deployed) IoT sensors or cameras can be deployed in some vineyards for Agricultural experiments. In collaboration with two local vineyards and wineries, the Matanza private 5G rural site, powered by solar panels and a wind generator, collects energy KPIs from the 5G network and connected devices, supports a camera‑equipped quadruped robot with near‑edge AI processing, and recharges agricultural AGVs and robots using on‑site green energy when available.
Expected Outcomes
- Always-on connectivity in remote/off-grid areas ensuring uninterrupted telecom service.
- Priority-based power allocation ensuring critical 5G/6G infrastructure remains operational.
- Reduced operational costs minimizing fuel use, maintenance, and backup dependency.
- Predictive energy optimisation aligning renewable supply with demand using weather and AI.
